CCP Process

CCP Process

If you have a high school diploma or the equivalent, you can begin earning your CCP today.

Getting started on your credential is easy!

What should I expect when I enroll in the CCP?

  • You'll need to get at least 180 clock hours continuing education credit by attending conferences, taking courses, or using the special "Walk Through the Series" lessons for the CCP. You've probably already accomplished a lot of this requirement!
  • You'll need 720 hours experience in the classroom. That's only 18 weeks, if you're a full-time teacher.
  • You'll create a portfolio demonstrating what you know about young children and how they learn. This is an idea book that you can add to through the years.
  • You'll be observed by a more experienced teacher and you'll be mentored by someone who really cares about you and your teaching career.
  • At the appropriate time, you take an exam that is designed to help demonstrate what you've learned. Because of all the help you've had, you'll be ready for this and proud of your results.
